Pre-schools are similar to nurseries but can often be found within mainstream schools and are referred to as foundation stage one (FS1). They are also only available to children from two years old, whereas nurseries will take children from babies.

Your choice will depend on your child's age, what you are looking for from a setting and how you child is developmentally. Difference include: Nurseries will take children from ages one – three where as pre-schools generally take children from three – five. Pre-schools have a formal curriculum and trained teachers.
